FriendFeed/Disqus Comment Sync v0.2

Please see my previous post for a run-down on how this tool works.  So, what’s new?  Well, alot:

  • This is a hosted/automated solution (https://ff2disqus.appspot.com)
  • Comments are synced every hour and all actions are logged
  • Users can discontinue syncing at any time

Well, I hope (some of) you like this!  Just another scotch-tape web application that was a product of too much free time!

  • I've filled everything in but still getting this message: "Please make sure the form is completely filled-in"
  • Hmm, strange. Are you also selecting values from the site/service drop-downs as well? I added some logging, please try it again.

  • This time I filled it in, but the Get Services button remains greyed out. I've tried it in Firefox 3.0.5. and IE 8.0
  • That's very strange. I just tested on FF 3.0.5 (Windows) and it worked for
    me. I'll try to look into this some more...

    After setting up correctly the first sync point for one of my blogs I'm now also having the grayed get service button problem when trying to setup another sync point for another blog or changing settings for the first one.

    By the was it was a much needed service. Thank you!

    Just solved with a workaround. Choosing a different option from the "Choose your site:" drop down will turn the Get Service button active again for all sites option.
  • Fabio: at the moment, FF2Disqus only supports syncing one site at a time.
  • I've filled in the form successfully now. I suppose it works, but I don't know how to test it. I don't see any comments to my old blogposts in friendfeed.

  • Yes, it only connects with Disqus (at the moment).
