I’ll be in Vegas from Friday to Sunday participating in the MBA Poker Championship! I’ll do my best to represent McCombs and Texas, but there will be stiff competition. There are 330 entrants for the Saturday tournament and 180 for Sunday. All the top MBA programs will likely fields dozens of players, so we have our work cut out for us. Wish me luck!
I just found out that all of the comic books that I collected as a kid are gone. This included my most prized item, Amazing Spiderman #300. This was the third issue (after 298 and 299) that Todd McFarlane illustrated for this series.
I won’t go into the details of what happened, but suffice it to say that this is a very sad moment for me. I moved around a lot as a kid, and boxes upon boxes of the cumulative effects of my life have been misplaced, forgotten or discarded. I don’t have a childhood home to go back to, and few friends from those bygone days to talk to. And now my comic book collection is gone. Just one less thing that I can share with my kids as they’re growing up.
I often consider anger to be a wasted emotion, but right now I type this through tightly gritted teeth.
