Clemens Riff
Posted: May 30th, 2007 | Author: Carter Rabasa | Filed under: Uncategorized | CommentsThis made me laugh out loud:
Dan (Boston): Could Roger Clemens get a more fitting and deserving sendoff than joining the last place Yankees and getting absolutely lit up by American League hitting, simultaneously devaluing his last 3 seasons, burying what’s left of the Yankees, and guaranteeing that fans in every city he ever played in despise him but take solace in the memory of his abysmal failure at the end.
SportsNation Bill Simmons: I have to say, everything’s set up for the perfect ending. I’m hoping it ends with Big Papi nailing him in the butt with a line drive, followed by a giant vial of HGH flying out of Clemens’s back pocket and landing at Jeter’s feet at shortstop, followed by one of those endings like the end of Cruel Intentions, when everything turns to slow motion as a horrified Clemens glances around (like Sarah Michele Gellar in the movie) and everyone shakes their heads at him in disgust while “Bittersweet Symphony” plays on the PA system.
