Indochina
Posted: March 19th, 2007 | Author: Carter Rabasa | Filed under: Uncategorized | CommentsI am pecking down this brief post on a computer in the lobby of the hotel I am staying at in Hanoi, Vietnam. I’ve been travelling in Asia for going on 4 or 5 days (depending on whether you count the 30 hours I spent getting from DC to Bangkok. After spending 9 or 10 hours in the Bangkok airport waiting for a connection to Hanoi, I’ve actually only been on the ground since Sunday afternoon.
I am about to depart Hanoi for Ha Long Bay. It’s supposed to be like Luray caverns on steroids. I overpaid a glossy travel agency to set this and another trip up for me to take care of my time in Vietnam. I’ll be heading back to Thailand on Saturday for my buddy’s wedding ceremony and some general R&R on the beaches. Don’t be fooled. I may be in Asia, but it’s cold and drizzly in northern Vietnam. I’ll be happy to hit the beach this weekend.
More soon…
