The geniuses over at WAKA have figured out a way to keep people from participating in other kickball leagues: by making it illegal! Yes, read through the lengthy release that all new registrants must agree to. I particularly like the following line:
…the Player agrees not to, directly or indirectly … attempt to persuade any current or prospective player or participant to participate in the sport of adult kickball in any league or division organized, authorized or sanctioned by WAKA…
Read that carefully. Apparently you’re promising not to persuade anyone to play in WAKA. I mean, just when things couldn’t get more insane, right?
Update: It seems that they have seen the error of their ways and have decided to remove the NDA/NCA from their on-line registration form.
