Shirley Manson Arrested?

During the first encore of tonight’s Garbage show at the 930 Club, three uniformed men (presumably DC police officers) rushed the stage arrested Shirley Manson. This occurred shortly after she pulled down her blouse and “flashed” the crowd. I put “flashed” in double quotes, because underneath her blouse was a skin-colored but very obvious tube-top. Absolutely nothing was visible or even implied (Shirley isn’t exactly a Playmate).

A fellow concert-goer was pretty sure it was a hoax, and it seemed so surreal that I almost agreed. But after 30 minutes or so the band did not return and the stage started being dismantled to the screams of “BULLSHIT!” from the crowd. It was a baffling and miserable end to one of the best shows I’ve ever seen at the 930 Club.

  • I can’t believe with all the blogs I read, people I IM, and email I recieve that I wasn’t informed that today is free cone day at Ben and Jerry’s. Freaking ridiculous.
  • I’m back from 5 days in southern Florida. My face is peeling off like reptile skin. My abuelo taught me how to play dominos and I’m feverishly trying to create a drinking game out of it.
  • My cousin Lisa is awesome, by the way. Her daughter Kristin couldn’t have a better role model.
  • I hate the Department of Income and Taxation in DC. Not only do they owe me ~$1800, they’re in the process of ruining my credit (don’t ask).
  • I added Google Ads to DCKickball in the hopes of creating enough of a revenue stream to cover the bandwidth charges. So far, over 10 days or so, I can by a stick of gum.
  • I love Ruby on Rails.

F’ing Tease!

I hate that this URL (http://flickr.com/badge_new.gne) got leaked and doesn’t work. I really need this functionality for what I’m trying to do with DCKickball. It would allow me to create a different tag for each team, allow them to upload images to be tagged with their team tag, and then have only those images displayed on their team blogs. But no! Instead we have a URL that hasn’t been disable, and yet hasn’t been made to work either! Fuck!
