Less is More
Posted: June 11th, 2004 | Author: Carter Rabasa | Filed under: Uncategorized | CommentsI got home from work yesterday and promptly hopped on Pacific. My reward was yet another win in a 10-handed $2.50 tourney. And this time, it wasn’t easy. I took some horrible beats early when I was outdrawn to the river. To make matters worse, my WiFi flaked out, and by the time I got it working again, I was the short stack with ~T350 compared to the average of T1200. Still, I plugged away at it, stole some pots, got some decent cards, and let other players knock each other out. I was actually ecstatic to make it to the final 3. Once the blinds got high enough, I was in heaven. I love stealing or semi-stealing pots. Most of these low-limit players can’t stand putting large sums of money into a pot pre-flop, and that’s easy to take advantage of. Despite some bad beats on the river, I’m really enjoying the low-limits.
Eddie, Pete, Dan, Hege and Margaret came by later. We watched some of the Lakers-Pistons game and then bounced over to Millie and Al’s where we met up with Akhil and his crew. Good times were had by all, some Bob Dylan was sung, and then it was off to that new place on 18th (whose name escapes me at the moment). It actually kind of sucked. Some kind of super-trendy diner/bar thing. I mean, don’t get me wrong, there were tons of beautiful babies in there, but they’ll be gone looking for the new trend sooner rather than later. So, we’ll see if this place holds up.
