I will continue with my time-shifted Asia trip once I get a chance. First of all, for those who couldn’t tell because I keep writing about my trip, I am back in town. Still a bit jet-lagged, but in one piece. I got red-flagged coming through customs, and my suitcase got tossed, but smooth sailing otherwise.
I am no longer working in Richmond during the week. I’m actually somewhat sad about this, which is entirely due to the likes of Bill, Heather, Francine, Andy, Michelle, the whole Richmond Amentra crew, and everyone else who took me under their wing while I was down there. I miss you guys!
So, for the time being, I am now back working at Geico in Friendship Heights. Not sure how long this engagement will last, hopefully until at least the end of the year. I’m locked behind a very restrictive firewall, so don’t expect to see me on IM or responding to Evites anytime soon.
Slept in till noon. Felt so good. Ran around not doing much. Spent forever (this happens alot) looking for an internet cafe. Tried to find a place to change in my ringus (Malaysian money).
Had dinner and a drink at an Irish pub. Had the smallest hamburger I’ve ever seen. 5% meat and 95% garnish and bun.
Ended up at the Zouk club strip. Paid S$28 (~$18) for access to three clubs: Phuture, Zouk, and the Velvet Underground. Had two drinks, looked around, and called it a night.
Today was my chill day. I slept in a bit and hung out by the pool. Saw a couple of cute women, but naturally they were married. I suppose I should expect any woman sitting by the pool on a weekday to be married.
Spent forever on an unsuccessful search for a place to eat lunch. Got there too late for some places, too early for others. Ended up eating a small McDonald’s fries which, oddly enough, got me through the day. The heat really saps my appetite.
Ok, I know I owe you all many more days worth on my trip. However, I left my journal at home, so I can only offer a brief recap. Also, I’m leaving for Thailand tomorrow and might be out of touch for a good 5 days or so.
