My friend Sunil has started sharing his thoughts on the movies he watches. He recently watched Swimming With Sharks, Ali, and About Schmidt. Curiously, he only reviewed Schmidt. I feel Swimming With Sharks deserves a review.

Swimming With Sharks – (** out of 5) – I absolutely love this movie. It follows a year in the life of a young, idealistic mid-westerner (Frank Whaley) as he pursues his dream to work in the movie business. He gets a job as an assistant to a tyrannical studio executive (Kevin Spacey) who proceeds to make his life a living hell. The movie is the blackest of comedies and the ending left me speechless. Certainly not an uplifting film, but one very much worth seeing.
